Teaching poems inthe high school is to make them appreciate and approach critically.But some poems arevery difficult for the pupilsto access.so the selection and gradation of the poems is very important.these poems are aimed at inspiring the pupils.they should be allowed to evaluate the poem in their own way.the teacher can help themto understand the technicalities implemented in the poem.teacher should go to the level of the learner.some recitation exercise can be included.Parallel poems of the first language canbe introduced.
